We Spent$182 on Day One

THE RESULT MOST PEOPLE CALL A LIE

We launched a brand new ad account on April 1st. Day one, we spent $182. By end of day we had 27 leads at around $5 apiece.

27 leads. $182 spent. $5 per lead. Day one.

When people hear numbers like this they either assume it is fake, it is a fluke, or that it only works for certain industries. I want to break down exactly why this happened and why it is more repeatable than most people think.

WHY ADS DO NOT ALWAYS TAKE FOREVER TO WORK

There is a common misconception in the home service space that Meta ads take a long time to get set up and even longer to produce results. Sometimes that is true. But the reason it takes a long time for most people has nothing to do with the platform. It has to do with the offer and the timing.

When your offer is right and you hit the market at the right time, results can come fast. That is what happened here. The offer connected with the audience immediately. The leads came in the same day.

The platform is not the problem. The platform works. The question is whether you have an offer that resonates with people who are already looking for what you sell.

WHAT MAKES AN OFFER HIT ON DAY ONE

There are a few things that have to line up for a new account to produce $5 leads on launch day.

First, the offer has to speak to a real, immediate need. If someone sees your ad and thinks "I actually need that right now," they fill out the form. If they have to think about it, they scroll past.

Second, the form has to be short. The more fields you add, the more friction you create, and the more people drop off before submitting. A lead form that asks for a name, phone number, and maybe one qualifying question is going to convert at a much higher rate than a form that feels like a job application.

Third, the targeting has to be tight enough that the ad is reaching people who actually could be your customer. Broad targeting on a new account wastes budget. You need to give the algorithm a direction to start in.

WHAT $5 LEADS ACTUALLY MEAN FOR A HOME SERVICE BUSINESS

Let me put the numbers in context. If you spend $100 a day and you are generating leads at $5 apiece, that is 20 leads per day. In a month that is roughly 600 leads.

Even if your close rate is 10 percent, that is 60 new customers a month. For a pest control company or lawn care company with average job values anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, the math gets very good very fast.

This is why we say the bottleneck is rarely the advertising. Once you have a working ad system, the bottleneck usually becomes your ability to follow up fast enough and close consistently. Speed to lead is critical. The faster you call back a Facebook lead, the higher your close rate.

THE STEP-BY-STEP BLUEPRINT TO BUILD THIS YOURSELF

We put together a full document that walks through how to set this up yourself. It covers account structure, offer design, form setup, targeting, and how to scale from your first day to spending $3,000 a month on ads profitably.

If you want to get to results like $182 spent and 27 leads on day one, this is the roadmap. Comment "blueprint" on any of our posts and we will send it directly to you, or book a call below and we can walk through your specific situation.
