DAY 6 OF THE DREAM 100 AUDIT

This is day 6 of the Dream 100 series. The premise is simple. Every week I pick a target account, pull up their current ads, and build them a fully branded ad package for free. No invoice. No pitch on the call. I email the work straight to whoever owns marketing at the company and let the work speak for itself.

Today's target was a national pest control brand with strong distribution and a decent sales operation. Their ads, though? That was the gap.

THE STARTING POINT WAS AD CREATIVE THAT DID NOT MATCH THE BRAND

I pulled their active ads in the meta library. What I saw was a mix of small text creatives, tight pest specific angles (termites, rodents, mosquito), and a few generic promotions. The pest specific stuff had potential, but the execution was uninspiring. Tiny fonts. Busy backgrounds. No clear offer. No brand consistency across the different service lines.

For a business doing real revenue, that level of creative was costing them leads every single day. And when I have seen this pattern on other pest accounts, the fix is almost always the same. Rebuild the creative with on brand design, specific offers, and clear pest category imagery. Watch CPL drop by 30 to 50 percent in under a month.

So that is what I did. For free. For a company that is not yet a client.

THE PROCESS I USED (THIS IS EXACTLY HOW YOU CAN COPY IT)

Here is the full five step workflow I ran on this account. None of it is complicated. The magic is in how repeatable it is. If you run marketing for any home service category, you can use this exact process to build creative for your own ads in under an hour.

Step 1: Spot the gap in the current ads

I opened the public ads library, filtered to the brand, and scrolled through everything they had live. I was looking for three things: inconsistent design, missing offers, and service lines that were underrepresented. Every one of those gaps was a blank canvas to fill.

Step 2: Pull the brand assets

I grabbed their logo straight from their homepage. I pulled two or three hex codes out of their primary brand colors. I pulled a few pest specific photography samples from their existing creative so the new work would feel like a natural extension of what they already had.

Step 3: Let Claude generate the ad image scripts

I handed Claude the logo, the brand colors, and a short brief for each of the 5 creatives. One ad per pest category, each with a specific offer and a strong pattern interrupt.

Claude wrote the generation scripts. I reviewed them. Then we fired them off to the image model, and within minutes we had five new ad images sitting in a folder, all branded, all on palette, all with offers.

Step 4: Quality check every single image

This is where most people skip a step and it costs them the whole win. I reviewed each image for brand consistency, text legibility, CTA clarity, and offer specificity. One image needed the pest imagery swapped. Another needed the text scaled up. Within 15 minutes, all 5 were ready to send.

Step 5: Email the CMO with the creative and the audit

I wrote a short email to the CMO. Two paragraphs. No pitch. Just: Hey, I audited your Meta ads. Here are the 5 ad images my team generated for you, all on brand, all ready to run. No invoice. No obligation. Run them, save them, or ignore them. But I wanted you to see what your creative could look like.

Attached the images. Hit send.

WHY THIS WORKS WHEN COLD OUTREACH DOES NOT

Every marketing agency in the country cold emails pest control brands. Most of them sound the same. "We do Meta ads for pest companies and would love to hop on a call." The CMO gets dozens of those a week and deletes them in 4 seconds.

What the CMO does not get? A package of 5 actual ready to run ad images with her brand on them, delivered for free, from a stranger who has clearly done the work.

That breaks the pattern. It is not pitching. It is proof of capability, delivered before the first conversation. It removes the imagination gap. She does not have to picture what working with us looks like. She is already holding the output of what working with us looks like.

Even if she does not reply this week, she will remember the name the next time a board member asks for a list of agencies that actually understand pest control creative. That is the Dream 100 game. Show the work. Play long.

THE NUMBERS BEHIND THIS APPROACH

We have been running the Dream 100 audit framework for a few months now. Here is what the data looks like across all the brands we have hit:

  • Reply rate: roughly 15 to 25 percent, compared to 2 to 4 percent on traditional cold email
  • Meeting book rate: 8 to 12 percent of emails sent, compared to 0.5 to 1 percent on blast email
  • Time to first call: usually within 7 days of first email
  • Close rate on meetings: around 40 to 55 percent, because the imagination gap is already gone

One audit delivered properly can book more meetings in a week than a 1,000 email cold blast will in a month. And because the cost is creative time, not email sending volume, it scales cleanly without burning domains or sender reputation.

WHAT TO STEAL FROM THIS POST

Even if you are not an agency, this framework works for any service business trying to land bigger accounts. Replace "ad creative" with whatever your skill is. If you are an SEO shop, audit their organic presence and send them 5 content briefs. If you are a video production company, send a sample cutdown of one of their products. If you are a copywriter, rewrite their best performing landing page and send them the rewrite.

Do the work first. Ask for the meeting second. Most of your competitors will not.
