Running a Marketing Agency With AI — Time Savings

I Didn't Hire a Team. I Built One With AI.

Twelve months ago I was doing everything manually. Writing social media posts by hand. Building ad creatives one at a time in Canva. Pulling reports from five different dashboards and stitching them together in Google Docs. Following up with leads when I remembered to.

I was working 60 hour weeks and still dropping balls.

Today I run Summit Strategic Group with a lean operation that handles content creation, ad creative generation, campaign management, client reporting, and lead follow up across multiple clients. The difference is not that I work harder. The difference is that AI handles about 70% of the repetitive work that used to eat my entire day.

Content Creation: 7 Platforms, One Workflow

Every week I publish across Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and my blog. That used to take me 15 to 20 hours per week just on content alone.

Now I use Claude Code to batch create content for the entire week in one sitting. I feed it my content calendar, my brand voice guidelines, and performance data from the previous week. It generates drafts across all platforms. I edit, approve, and schedule.

Total time: about 3 hours per week. That is an 80% reduction.

Ad Creative Generation: 10 Images in 5 Minutes

I used to spend 30 minutes per ad image in Canva. For a pest control client who needs creatives for 8 different pest types, that is 4 hours of design work.

Now I use Google's Gemini image generation model with a custom prompt template. I feed it the client's logo, brand colors, service area, and pest type. It generates professional ad creatives in about 30 seconds each.

Ten images. Five minutes. That is not an exaggeration.

Campaign Management: Automated Setup

When I launch a new Facebook Ads campaign for a pest control client, I used to spend an entire afternoon setting up ad sets, uploading creatives, writing headlines, and configuring targeting.

Now I run Python scripts that connect directly to the Meta Ads API. I input the client's service area, pest types, and budget. The script creates all ad sets, uploads creatives, writes pest specific headlines, and sets everything to paused so I can review before going live.

What took 4 hours now takes about 20 minutes, and most of that is my review time.

Lead Follow Up: Speed to Lead on Autopilot

If you respond to a lead within 5 minutes, you are 100 times more likely to connect with them than if you wait 30 minutes. Most pest control companies take hours to respond. Some never respond at all.

I set up AI text bots and automated follow up sequences through GoHighLevel for my clients. When a lead comes in from a Facebook ad, they get a personalized text message within 60 seconds. No human needed.

One client went from a 15% contact rate to a 45% contact rate just by adding speed to lead automation.

Client Reporting: Real Data, Zero Busywork

I used to spend Friday afternoons pulling numbers from Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics, and GoHighLevel, then manually building reports in Google Docs.

Now I have scripts that pull performance data from each platform's API, compile it into a formatted report, and save it to Google Drive. I review the data, add my strategic notes, and send it to the client.

Report generation went from 2 hours per client to about 15 minutes.

Content creation: 18 hours per week down to 3. Ad creatives: 4 hours per client down to 20 minutes. Campaign setup: 4 hours down to 20 minutes. Lead follow up: 5 hours per week down to 30 minutes of oversight. Reporting: 2 hours per client down to 15 minutes.

AI does not replace strategy or client relationships. It replaces the repetitive execution work that used to consume 80% of my time. Now I spend that time on strategy, sales, and actually growing the business.
